It's a small victory to run a circle around the sun. 20 times. A couple laps blurred by fog + raging storms. But, I bested the pace of a handful of my demons. Some are still waiting a few rotations ahead. I'd be arrogant to claim a solo act. This has been a mighty ensemble featuring beautiful friends, a few villains, + talented crew members. A lively audience gifting a standing ovation at each set change. I've fallen into a few trap doors, but I'm still captivated by the rush of performing. This year has been a revolution of transformation. Of my fear and of my love. I have felt deeper, hurt wholehearted, existed brighter. Discovered the very end of myself. Made camp between change and bravery. Accepted a walk in freedom; my eyes now open to truth. My fingers confidently linger on the pages of the next chapter. Of the rest of the book. Knowing it has already been written. Knowing I have been gifted so many hands to hold me when I fall. Knowing I have already survived the crumbling of the foundation. Here's to the past two decades. To every mile travelled. To each step deeper into nature. To the late nights dancing + even later nights writing papers. To the campfires + backroad drives. To that fearless little girl with her heart set on changing the world. To each minute of God's pursing love. Here's to the next. To seeking justice. To making my heart kind. To healing. To growth. To laughter. To relapse + triumph. To the works I can't begin to understand. To serving a good Savior. [inspired by Revolutions by Nishat Ahmed]
